A quiet week for classes this first week of August but we are working busily behind the scenes for the next quarter. If you missed out on the first Knotty Night here’s your chance to have some fun.
We are also gearing up for the 2011 Shop Hop. Stay tuned for more information about the Kick Off event we will be having.
On Fridays I will be sharing with you new products we have in the store and maybe even a sample or two using that product.
This weeks product is large hole semi precious beads. The holes are large enough for leather, suede and certainly for yarn. They were used in this weeks This into That post and in the sample below using suede. They come in 12mm round, 12mm oval and 8mm round and cost $9.95 a strand.
Here is a really cute bracelet Laura made with the large hole beads and suede.
Jane from Two Sisters and Ewe came up with this creation! A simple combination of beads and yarn make up this bracelet. It can be worn with jeans or a dressy dress no problem.
Supplies:
1 skein of yarn from Two Sisters and Ewe $6.95. You will have plenty of yarn left for other projects.
1 strand of large hole beads $9.95. This does not take the whole strand of beads, only as many as you want.
1 Toggle $3.65
2 End Caps $3.95 each
Directions:
Determine the length you will need and add about 2 inches on each end to fit into the end caps. Thread each bead with enough yard to keep the bead from sliding easily. Using a piece of craft wire, wrap all the yarn strands around the wire, knot and pull the wire through the end cap. Glue the knot and wire wrap one end of your toggle. Do the same for the other side. Wear and enjoy! For a better idea come on in and take a closure look as the bracelet is on display.
Thanks Jane for a fantastic project!
Here are the classes coming up this week here at The Bouncing Bead!
Another wonderful creation by Kristi for the This into That project. A fun and simple necklace with a joyful jingle of small metal discs and sparkling Chinese crystal anyone would be proud to wear!
We have the chain, coins and findings to make this in either antique bronze or antique copper.
Supplies: Available in antique copper or antique bronze
Strand of Chinese crystal – $5.95
Chain – $3.60 a foot
Coins – .25 each
Clasp – .50
Jump rings – .04 each
Ball head pins – .10ea
Measure your chain to the length you would like. Using the head pins do a simple loop and attach a crystal to every other chain link. Using the jump rings attach the coins to the alternating links between the crystals. Attach your clasp and your good to go!
Happy 4th of July weekend! We will be closed on the 4th and will re-open on the 5th at regular time. Here are the upcoming classes for the week.
